The primary goal of the Engineering Division is to provide design services for transportation, equestrian trail, water, sewer and flood control facilities, in addition to mapping. The Engineering group provides administrative and technical support services for project design and management of work performed within the public right-of-way and assists in identifying developer or private on/off site improvements, including assessment districts, municipal facilities and NPDES compliance.

The division has responsibilities for maintenance of technical records, issuance of grading and public right-of-way encroachment permits, design and construction management of capital improvement projects, site plan and final map checking, processing lot merger and lot line adjustments, providing coordination with various State and County regulatory oversight departments and inspection of public and private projects within public right-of-way.
